The costs involved with equestrian sports are on the rise. Increased fuel
prices affect our delivery charges for all feeds and fertilizers. With many
states facing a drought, the cost for hay and some grains is also on the
rise. At Spring Valley, we want to continue to offer a variety of programs.
Knowing that we all are affected by the economic crunch, we do make an
effort to keep the costs of our programs down as much as possible. Watching
people of all ages progress in a positive environment is incredibly
rewarding. Therefore we encourage anyone who is willing, to jump in, get
involved, and witness what this growth can do for our future.
Programs offered and sponsorship duties & rewards:
Lesson Horses
One way to get involved is to help maintain and feed the lesson horses of
Spring Valley. Much effort is put into having some of the finest horses to
offer to our groups for the benefit of top educational riding sessions.
When breaking down the costs of feeding, grooming supplies, veterinary &
farrier work, and stable upkeep (electricity, water, extra fans in the
summer and extra blankets in the winter), one single horse may cost anywhere
from $3,600.00 to $5,000.00 per year. For a sponsorship of $100.00 per
month, we will send a bi-monthly letter to keep you up to date with our
growth and expansion progress, however, any amount will be welcomed and
appreciated.
Jumps for Joy
This past year, the kids of Spring Valley developed an interest in the
designing and building of jumps to improve the ones we use daily and for
shows. Their participation has given them a greater understanding of course
design. They have also have a greater understanding of striding (the amount
of strides a horse takes between each jump), which has improved their
approach to each jump. When riders are involved in this way, safety becomes
a top priority regardless of the course they are riding. They think about
the course, literally, from the ground up, not just a "big obstacle" to get
over. Supplies to create a great jump may cost anywhere from $200.00 to
$500.00. Your logo can be placed anywhere on it and you will receive a
photo of the jump along with all those involved. This would be a great way
to advertise your busines.
Beat the Heat
Donations are being accepted for a cooler and more comfortable barn for the
horses. We have just added misters to our 240 ft. barn to keep it cooler on
the triple-digit summer days in Alabama. We also need to add rubber matting
to the alley way of the barn. This will keep it running without the danger
of becoming muddy or slippery inside the barn. The estimated cost is
$7,000.00, however, any amount is appreciated for this project.
Shows
We are also looking for sponsors to have a division named after you or your
business. Awards for the division you sponsor will be made with your logo.
There will be four shows a year and it is your choice as to how many you
will be obligated to. This is a great way to be a part of the positive
progress in the lives of our students. They are working hard year round,
braving hot or cold weather, as well as the horses that carry them through
it all. Your $200.00 sponsorship will go toward the cost of the following:
Six ribbons for each class in your chosen division (usually 3-4 classes);
A championship award for both horse and rider receiving the most points
within that division (generally a blanket or pad for the horse and a trophy
for the rider);
A Reserve Championship award for the horse and rider with the second highest
amount of points.
We have always gone above and beyond to give out great prizes at all of our
shows, and with some additional help and support, we could raise the
standards a little higher. Another great way to advertise your business.
